The role Random Studio is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join our creative team in Amsterdam.

Our graphic design rarely ends up on a page or a screen alone. It lives in spaces people walk through, touch and remember. You will shape how graphic design comes to life in those spaces, across our clients, from global sportswear and luxury brands to tech.

We want someone who is curious about questions like:

• How does graphic design translate into the physical world?

• How can type construct a space?

• What does graphic design sound like? How does a typeface feel, behave?

• How can text change, react, animate and become form?

You see typography, branding and motion as materials for space, interaction and the senses. You like to experiment, test ideas early and push them further than expected. This is a senior, concept-led role. You set the graphic direction and explore what it could become. A mid-level designer on the team takes it through to final artwork, with your guidance.

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years of experience in graphic design, with a multidisciplinary interest in space, interaction, motion or sound.

• An open, explorative mindset. You enjoy research, play and prototyping as much as the final result.

• A strong portfolio built on typography and graphic-led motion, ideally including work in physical or interactive environments.

• Strong skills in After Effects and the Adobe suite. Figma prototyping and generative or creative coding tools are a plus.

• A good sense of how ideas get built in space, so your concepts are both ambitious and realistic.

• The ability to present and explain your thinking to clients and to the team.

What you’ll do

• Lead the graphic direction on projects across our clients.

• Explore new ways for type, graphics and motion to live in and interact with physical space.

• Develop concepts for interactive and digital touchpoints such as touch interfaces, screens and sensors.

• Create motion studies and prototypes to explain ideas and hand them over to developers.

• Work closely with spatial designers, creative technologists and strategists to reach one coherent experience.

• Guide the mid-level and junior designers who take the work into final artwork.
