About the Role
ByteBridge is looking for a Data Center Engineer to support our 24/7 data center operations in Kouvola, Finland.
The role focuses on hardware break/fix, troubleshooting, equipment installation, and day-to-day data center support. You will work on-site to ensure infrastructure issues are identified and resolved promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hardware break/fix support for servers, storage, and network equipment.
- Troubleshoot and replace faulty hardware components such as HDDs, SSDs, RAM, PSUs, and network cards.
- Carry out rack-and-stack, equipment installation, and decommissioning activities.
- Perform structured cabling, patching, and cable management.
- Conduct routine hardware checks and respond to alerts or incidents.
- Work with remote engineering teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Handle support tickets and provide timely updates on incident resolution.
- Maintain accurate asset records, maintenance logs, and shift handover reports.
- Follow site SOPs, safety procedures, and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in data center operations, hardware support, or IT infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with server hardware troubleshooting and component replacement.
- Basic knowledge of networking, structured cabling, and fiber optics.
- Familiarity with Dell, HPE, Lenovo, or similar enterprise server hardware is preferred.
- Able to communicate in English; Finnish is an advantage.
- Comfortable working rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Able to work independently and respond to incidents within required timelines.
- Must have valid work authorisation in Finland.
