Node.js Developer

As a Node.js Developer, you will play a key role in building backend systems that support secure, high-performing applications and integrations. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, contributing to architecture decisions, and helping deliver dependable platforms that support business-critical digital services.

Responsibilities• Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs supporting digital channels and core business systems.

• Build secure, high-performance server-side applications using Node.js and reusable application components.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, middleware, and integrations with internal systems and third-party services.
• Participate in application architecture and technical design discussions while writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code aligned with best practices.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and stored procedures while ensuring data consistency, integrity, and security.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize systems for scalability, high availability, and resource efficiency.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms and apply security best practices, including JWT, OAuth, and SSO.
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies and data protection requirements while collaborating with information security teams.
• Develop and execute unit tests, participate in code reviews, and support quality assurance activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-6 years of backend development experience.
• Strong experience with Node.js and JavaScript for backend application development.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and Microsoft SQL Server, including database design and optimization, normalization, data modeling, complex queries, stored procedures, functions, views, transaction management, indexing strategies, and database performance analysis.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices, including API versioning, Swagger/OpenAPI documentation, JSON data structures, request validation, error handling, service-to-service communication, asynchronous communication, and troubleshooting integration failures.
• Experience implementing JWT-based authentication for REST APIs and OAuth 2.0 authorization for APIs and service integrations.
• Strong understanding of secure API development practices, including HTTPS/TLS, password hashing, secure storage of sensitive information, input validation, rate limiting, and secure session management.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source code management, including automated builds, automated testing, and deployment using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience containerizing Node.js applications with Docker, including Docker images, containers, and Docker Compose.
• Experience with production monitoring and troubleshooting, including application logging, error tracking, performance monitoring, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
• Fluent or native-level Arabic and professional working proficiency in English.
• Eligibility to work in Egypt.
