Role Purpose
The Cybersecurity Intern will work alongside experienced cybersecurity and IT professionals and learn how security tools, monitoring processes, and risk management practices help keep business operations secure. This internship provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world security challenges while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with monitoring cybersecurity tools, alerts, and system activity to help identify potential security risks.
- Support cybersecurity projects involving network security, system protection, and risk management.
- Collect, organize, and analyze security events and learn how cybersecurity teams respond to potential threats.
- Support testing and review activities that help strengthen security controls and operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity team members on projects that improve security and business operations.
- Present project findings and accomplishments to leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
- Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred
- Interest in cybersecurity, network security, information protection, or risk management.
- Basic knowledge of leading enterprise cyber security practices
- Planning and project management skills
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
- Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, presenting ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
