Play a key role delivering tech sector mega-projects.
We are looking for an experienced Associate ML Project Manager to join our rapidly growing team. You will play a key role in delivering one of our biggest data centre construction projects in Finland and Norway
You can be based either 100% in the country, or there will be significant international travel to Finland or Norway (11/3 day rotations).
Role accountabilities:
The role of the ML project lead is to oversee Machine Learning (ML) liquid cooling and electrical infrastructure upgrades on a Google Data Centre in EMEA. The ideal candidate should have data centre construction and commissioning experience as a minimum requirement. A mechanical bias is preferred as the mechanical scope for these upgrades is typically larger than the electrical scope however a sound understanding of electrical systems and knowledge is required. The ML project manager will be responsible for the ML project lifecycle from contractor appointment through to commissioning complete.
The ML PM shall apply DC construction expertise and drive the cross-functional collaboration required to deliver the ML infrastructure to meet the business requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
Manage the change order process with the resident SPC, ensuring that documents detailing the full mechanical, electrical and fibre scope are accurately localised and all scope is captured during the initial cost and schedule agreement process, minimising risk to project delivery.
Manage the SPC schedule of ML works including regular communication of critical milestones to cross-functional business teams.
Manage the full scope of SPC ML infrastructure installation, ensuring minimal change order requirements during project execution.
Manage logistics of materials from both integrator and internal OFE suppliers (CDUs etc) to ensure materials are delivered to meet the SPC schedule ROJ NBDs.
Identify and mitigate key risks associated with delivering the ML infrastructure.
Coordinate key interfaces with the main DC fit-out build such as HAC completion dates and power & cooling availability.
Closely coordinate with the fibre infrastructure team (DCNICon) to ensure fibre scope is delivered as required to meet business ML needs.
Ensure that the ML scope is managed and executed by the SPC independently of the main scope including dedicated management and labour from the SPC.
Co-ordination and management of ML M&E commissioning works up to L3 CDU Cx complete and
assistance to DCOps thereafter during L4.
Regular reporting on ML project risks, dates and general updates on a regular basis to DCS PgM team and all required cross-functional client teams.
Complete lessons learned log and shared back with client teams.
Key Requirements
- Strong technical background within M&E systems and experience managing DC fit-out and Cx projects.
- Ability to oversee complex site-specific configurations and coordinate with supply chain teams.
- Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (e.g., BIM 360, Google workspace).
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple information sources.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong forecasting and logistical planning ability to manage the flow of material to the site in a controlled manner to meet the client business requirements.
