Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Amelia, LA

Job Summary: A Project Manager is responsible for calculating job costs and prepare billing amounts for customers, evaluating the scope of work for each project and identify required tasks, assisting other team members in various aspects of project coordination in addition to communicating ongoing progress from the job supervisor to the customer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quotes (bid proposals) for customers and inter-company projects.
  • Assist with job start-up as needed.
  • Receive jobs from customers through verbal or written instructions.
  • Generate job-opening forms for new projects.
  • Evaluate scope of work with customers to determine project requirements.
  • Create job specifications for various repair projects.
  • Oversee repair projects and collaborate with production personnel.
  • Incorporate project costs and billing amounts into specifications; create itemized invoices when required.
  • Negotiate invoices with customers, as necessary.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and regulatory surveyors.
  • Invoice billing to customers promptly.
  • Communicate needed repairs to relevant departments based on project scope evaluation.
  • Estimate quotes and survey projects for accuracy.
  • Discuss final estimates and project details with the General Manager, Superintendent, or other necessary personnel

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing project coordination duties/responsibilities in addition to having experience in performing maintenance functions on marine vessels.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic computer experience utilizing MS Office applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at supervisory levels and with outside representatives of various agencies, customers, and subcontractors.
  • Basic blueprint and/or schematic diagram reading skills are a plus
