Description & Requirements

Is this your next challenge in digital product design?

The challenge is to:

  • Experience Strategy & Design Ownership: Own the user experience for priority yuu product areas — including payment (dynamic QR, card linking, residual payment), Pay with Points (online and offline), rewards redemption, and core app journeys. Translate business goals into clear, usable, and consistent member experiences.
  • End-to-End UX Design: Lead the full design process from problem framing and user flows to wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and design handoff. Design for app, web, selfcheckout/ POS-adjacent journeys, and partner integrations where relevant.
  • UI Systems & Visual Craft: Create polished, on-brand interfaces that strengthen yuu brand recall and point perceived value. Contribute to and evolve the yuu design system so screens remain consistent, scalable, and efficient to implement across banners and features.
  • User Insight & Validation: Use research, usability testing, analytics, and stakeholder feedback to inform design decisions. Identify friction in earn / burn / pay journeys and iterate quickly based on evidence.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Project Management, Commercial, Marketing, and Retail / POS teams. Participate in discovery, sprint reviews, and launch readiness to ensure designs are feasible, adopted, and well implemented.
  • Complex Flow Simplification: Simplify multi-step loyalty and payment journeys (member identification, points selection, residual payment, authorisation, receipts) into fast, trustworthy experiences that work under real retail conditions — including network issues, cashier-assisted flows, and first-time use.
  • Accessibility, Consistency & Quality: Design to accessibility and platform standards (iOS /Android / web). Maintain interaction consistency across yuu app, partner surfaces, and in-store touchpoints. Support QA with design QA and implementation reviews.
  • Design Communication: Present concepts, rationale, and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders. Produce high-quality specs, prototypes, and documentation that enable efficient engineering delivery.

Do you have experience in product UX/UI Design?

  • Experience: Senior UIUX Designer (Minimum 10+)/ UIUX Designer (min. 5+ years) of UI/UX or product design experience, including at least 2 years owning complex consumer-facing digital products. Experience in loyalty, retail, eCommerce, fintech, or payments is strongly preferred.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, user flows, interaction design, visual UI, and shipped outcomes. Examples involving checkout, payments, rewards, or omnichannel retail journeys are a distinct advantage.
  • Craft & Tools: Expert proficiency in Figma (or equivalent) for UI, prototyping, and design systems. Comfortable with user-flow mapping, component libraries, and developer handoff. Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Amplitude, or similar) is a plus.
  • UX Rigor: Ability to frame problems, map journeys, design for edge cases, and balance desirability, feasibility, and business constraints. Experience running or partnering on usability testing and applying insights to iteration.
  • Technical Collaboration: Ability to work closely with engineers on constraints, states, APIs, and platform differences. Understanding of mobile app patterns, QR / scan-based journeys, and basic payment or loyalty flows is highly desirable.
  • Stakeholder Skills: Excellent communication and visual storytelling. Able to align Product, Commercial, Marketing, Retail Media and Technology stakeholders and defend design decisions with clarity and evidence.
  • Methodologies: Experience working in Agile product teams and delivering design incrementally from discovery through launch.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Visual Communication, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of loyalty programmes, customer engagement, personalisation, and emerging retail / consumer-tech experience patterns is highly desirable.
  • Language: Fluent English is required. Cantonese and/or Mandarin are strong advantages for user research and stakeholder collaboration in Hong Kong.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing payment, wallet, or card-linking journeys.
  • Experience with in-store / kiosk / POS-adjacent digital experiences.
  • Motion design or micro-interaction craft for app engagement and gamification.
  • Experience contributing to or leading a design system in a multi-brand environment.
