Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is responsible to organize, administer and control project activities, under the direction and supervision of a Project Manager. The APM will support and collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent in overseeing and managing their assigned projects. The APM may also in some situations be directly responsible for providing overall administrative direction for one or more smaller projects under the supervision of a Project Manager or Project Director.

  • Utilize all Chandos project management systems: Chandos Production System, Project Execution Plan, Quality Management system, Health and Safety Program, and Project Management Manual.
  • Ensure compliance with Chandos health and safety training and reporting requirements.
  • Assist estimating in the tendering process as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents.
  • Prepare contract documents with the desired scope of work for Project Manager’s review.
  • Utilize Chandos procedures during the procurement phase as well as throughout the project as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Assist in the management of all aspects of the project.
  • Assist with the negotiating and issuing of Subcontracts and purchase orders for the project.
  • Assist the project team with the initial mobilization and setup of the construction site.

These are the MINIMUM requirements:

  • Three or more years of experience as a Project Coordinator for a general contractor (GC)
  • Engineering degree or technical diploma in an appropriate construction-related field (CET), or equivalent construction experience
  • A solid understanding of all construction trades, safety and construction techniques
  • Able to understand and navigate project plans, specifications and contract documents
  • Basic understanding of the different contractual models and responsibilities

Preferred

  • Construction / Engineering degree is preferred.

Compensation Transparency

Expected Salary: $91,000 - $112,000

The base salary range for this role is listed above and may vary based on your experience. This position also includes a competitive bonus program. Throughout the interview process, we’ll discuss your background to determine the best alignment for your experience level.
