Position Summary

Scope

Responsible for operational database administration, Exadata support, performance tuning, Data Guard management, monitoring optimisation, backup and recovery, operational procedure refinement and mentoring of DBA staff.  

Job Duties / Key Accountabilities

  • Operational maintenance including RMAN backup validation and restores
  • Exadata administration across On-Premises, OCI and Cloud at Customer
  • Performance and SQL tuning using AWR, ASH and ADDM
  • Oracle Data Guard administration for high availability
  • Monitoring optimisation and alert refinement
  • Procedure improvement including partitioning and archiving
  • Mentoring and knowledge sharing

 

Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge – Required

  • 5–8+ years Oracle DBA experience
  • Oracle Exadata experience
  • Oracle Data Guard expertise
  • Advanced performance tuning capabilities
  • RMAN backup and recovery experience
  • Linux-based Oracle administration

 

Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge – Desired

  • Oracle OCP certification
  • Experience supporting databases with hundreds of millions of records
  • Cloud at Customer experience

 

Authority / Decision Making

Acts as technical authority for Oracle database operations, monitoring standards, recovery procedures, tuning recommendations and operational best practices.
