EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S., Mechanical Engineering
  • (12) years’ minimum experience
  • P.E. License
  • Experience to include Team/Group/Department Leadership
  • Experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical business lines in EPC environment
  • Experience with formal pipe stress is required.  Caesar II software is preferred
  • Ability to develop equipment data sheets, requisition packages, technical bid reviews
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers, and engineers
  • Adept at communicating with client management teams of all levels on a wide variety of engineering and plant related subjects
  • Ability to physically perform field trips to meet with clients and personnel
  • Ability to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Department Supervisory responsibilities include salary administration, recruiting, performance reviews, corrective action, coordination of training / development of team members, mentoring and other related activities
  • Responsible for overall performance and goals of the department; supervises and manages process and regulatory compliance engineers.
  • Maintains department and client communications to achieve assignment goals; monitors department quality control/assurance; reviews and maintains control of overall cost and schedule commitments.
  • The Department Manager provides technical guidance and oversight to mechanical engineering team members while completing client projects, process studies, and other deliverables.
  • The manager assists with Business Development activities including preparation of engineering services proposals.
  • Interfaces directly with clients to enhance progress and develop positive business relationships.
  • Prepares technical presentations and proposals for business development activities.
  • Preparation of detailed scopes of work, cost proposals and technical support.
  • Determines staffing and scheduling requirements, project budget and delivery schedules.
  • Helps to train and develop mechanical department team members.
  • Collaborate with procurement, construction, and external vendors
  • Review and seal piping design documents
  • Reviews and approves technical reports prior to issuance to clients.
  • Monitors work product quality to ensure adherence to established practices and client standards.
