HDR is looking for a Senior Transit Planning Project Manager to join our North Carolina team. This position may be based out of any of our NC offices (Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville, Winston-Salem, Wilmington). In this role, we’ll count on you to:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of multidisciplinary projects that have a high degree of technical complexity and involve a large project staff of professionals and technicians.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, and project meetings.
  • Serve as Project Manager on small, medium, and large transportation and transit projects.
  • Participate in proposal development and other marketing activities as a seller-doer pursuit champion or support role, as appropriate.
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders .
  • Implement QA/QC procedures and perform detailed QC reviews of transportation and transit projects.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule.
  • Work with Transit Market Sector Leader and other area leaders to coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project lifecycle, supervise project staff, act as a mentor for less-experienced Project Managers, and execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans.
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
  • Perform other duties, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification
  • AICP certification, local candidates are preferred
  • Familiar with Primavera P3 or SureTrak software preferred
  • Familiar with Prolog software preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and related professional experience
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
