WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are looking for a motivated Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack Developer to join our Digital Checkout Frontend team and help build seamless, scalable, and high-performing digital checkout experiences for millions of H&M customers worldwide.
In this role, you will work closely with engineers, Product Managers, designers, and business stakeholders to develop customer-facing applications that are reliable, secure, and easy to maintain. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
You enjoy solving complex technical problems, learning new technologies, and collaborating with a global team to deliver exceptional digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications for H&M's digital checkout platform.
- Build modern, responsive, and high-performing frontend applications using React and Next.js.
- Develop and maintain backend services using Java.
- Develop secure, reliable, and maintainable software with performance and quality in mind.
- Contribute across frontend, backend, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end software solutions.
- Support deployment and release activities using modern CI/CD practices.
- Work with GitHub Actions and Microsoft Azure to build and maintain deployment pipelines.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve application performance, stability, and reliability.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders in an Agile environment.
- Stay up to date with modern development practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Digital Transactions area takes up end-to-end transactional journey ownership, starting from conversion of shopping Cart into sales order and ensuring order is forwarded to fulfilment and accounting. The Digital Checkout team plays a critical role in shaping the customer journey, starting from the cart through to a seamless and effortless checkout experience. We are a dynamic and innovative team that builds exciting features and solutions at the heart of our digital commerce platform.
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for people with strong full-stack engineering capabilities, excellent programming skills, and a passion for building customer-centric digital products.
- Overall Experience: 6–10 years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development.
- Frontend Technologies: Strong experience building modern web applications using React.js and Next.js.
- Backend Technologies: Hands-on experience developing backend services using Java.
- Programming & Problem Solving: Excellent programming, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
- Cloud & DevOps: Experience working with Microsoft Azure, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- Architecture & Development: Good understanding of scalable application architecture, REST APIs, and software engineering best practices.
- Agile Delivery: Experience working in Agile teams with strong collaboration and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working on E-commerce platforms, preferably within fashion retail.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and cloud-native applications.
- Experience with application monitoring, observability, and performance optimization.
- Ability to read, understand, and analyze existing Node.js code to support the migration of Node.js service to Java.
