ACE-IOS Operator

SAIC is seeking an ACE-IOS Operator (Air, Space and Cyberspace Constructive Environment - Information Operations Suite) to support an existing Air Force program out of Osan Air Base (Pyeongtaek, Korea).

The contractor shall and perform a full range of ACE-IOS model controller duties including:

• Operating the model in multiple theater-level exercises each year, working 12 hour shifts, providing Link-16 tracks, data translation, simulation objects/entities, and simulated intelligence collection/message dissemination.
• Demonstrated ability to use strong Linux, shell scripting, Python, Perl, and SQL skills to automate tasks, manipulate data, and diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in simulation systems.
• Reading, interpreting, parsing, and manipulating Air Tasking Orders (ATOs).
• Working with various organizations, including the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Division, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group, J2, A2, 607th Air Operations Center, and the 51st Fighter Squadron to gather requirements and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) regarding Desired Learning Objectives (DLOs) that can be achieved within the simulation.
• Querying an SQL database and using this data to creating webpages and reports to provide Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) to various parties in multiple formats.
• Performing system administration activities such as configuring operating systems and connections for virtual machines in distributed server/client environments.
• Performing software testing, integration, validation, and verification with the latest versions of ACE-IOS software.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• US Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s and Nine (9) or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience working with Linux-based computer systems, plus an additional two (2) years of experience in Modeling and Simulation (M&S); experience with air-focused simulation systems is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor the performance of complex Modeling and Simulation systems and identify, troubleshoot, and resolve model, system, and database anomalies in support of Joint and Combined military exercises.
• Ability to rapidly learn, operate, and troubleshoot specialized Modeling and Simulation software in a high-tempo operational environment.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems under significant time constraints during exercise preparation and execution.
• Ability to serve as a principal model controller during exercise preparation, testing, training, and execution, including taking necessary corrective actions to maintain efficient and reliable simulation operations.
• Experience supporting simulation database development, management, testing, and validation, including coordination of database requirements and verification of data compatibility and consistency across interfacing simulation systems.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in software development/testing with proficiency in at least one modern programming language, e.g.: Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, C#, etc.
• Experience with web app development.
• Working knowledge of U.S. Air Force culture, terminology, organizations, and operational processes.
• Knowledge of Air Operations Center (AOC) procedures and operations, including experience supporting the planning and execution of complex simulation-driven exercises.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of exercise simulation across multiple Service components, with the ability to understand interoperability requirements and represent air-component simulation requirements during exercise planning and integration activities.
