About the role

Fellow is the collaborative meeting assistant that helps teams make the moments before, during, and after meetings valuable. Behind our simplicity is a significant amount of complexity that spans devices, platforms, permissions, and integrations. Our job is to make it feel effortless and magical.

Designers at Fellow have unusually broad ownership. We don't have a traditional product function where you're handed requirements to execute. Instead, designers identify problems, shape the direction, propose solutions, and work closely with others to bring them to market.

This role suits someone who is energized by ambiguity and wants to own outcomes end to end. If you prefer tight specs and a clean handoff, this isn't the right fit. If you want to take a problem from first sketch to shipped product and stand behind the result, read on.

We're looking for strong product judgment, exceptional interaction and visual design skills, and the ability to take ambiguous problems from early thinking through shipped product.

What you'll do

  • Design UI/UX improvements and features across the full product experience, from early concept through shipped product.
  • Create functioning, realistic prototypes with world-class visual design polish.
  • Use coding tools to ship front-end improvements and small features to production.
  • Contribute to and improve a shared library of front-end tokens, components, and patterns.
  • Adapt experiences across a variety of surfaces including web, desktop, mobile, and our Chrome Extension.
  • Use product data, user anecdotes, and competitor positioning to propose new initiatives.
  • Own the product roadmap, milestones, timeline, and issues for your team's work.

What you need

  • 7+ years experience designing software across different devices and surfaces.
  • Comfortable leading without authority and being directly responsible for your team's success.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, as we're a remote-first company.
  • Mastery of visual design, color theory, layout composition, information hierarchy, and interaction design.
  • Familiarity with code and experience creating production-quality prototypes.

Why Fellow?
