The Senior Data Analyst (Customer Analytics) answers the Customer Intelligence team's hardest questions with data: segmentation, retention, lifetime value and campaign effect across Dis-Chem's customer base and the Better Rewards programme. The role analyses certified gold customer datasets in Databricks SQL, applies statistics and effect measurement, and delivers recommendations the tribe acts on. Chapter home is Data Analytics; delivery home is Customer Intelligence in the Customer Lifecycle Value tribe.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 or more years in data analysis, with substantial customer analytics experience: segmentation, retention and churn, lifetime value, campaign measurement.
- Expert SQL on large datasets.
- Strong applied statistics: hypothesis testing, experiment design and effect measurement.
- Data modelling literacy: reads and navigates star schemas and gold models.
- A track record of presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.
Advantageous

- Python or R for deeper statistical work.
- SAP business context: what BW reports mean and the data behind them. We teach this during the migration off SAP BW.
- Retail or healthcare.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?
- Analyse segmentation, retention, lifetime value and behaviour drivers on certified gold customer data, using sound statistical method, so that Customer Intelligence decisions rest on evidence.
- Measure the effect of Braze campaigns and CRM initiatives using sound test design so that spend shifts to what works.
- Use certified gold and metric views only, document methods, and promote recurring customer metrics to Analytics Engineers for certification as metric views, so that the tribe reports one version of the truth.
- Lead problem framing with Customer Intelligence stakeholders and mentor intermediate analysts so that the tribe's analytical capability grows.

- Structured ambiguous questions into testable analysis.

- Runs multiple analyses in parallel, unblocks others and manages stakeholder expectations.
