We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer who can help shape the next phase of our product journey and raise the bar for design across the organisation.

About the Role

As a Lead Product Designer, you will own the design vision and experience for some of Scapia’s most important product areas.

You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Business teams to solve complex customer problems, shape product strategy, and take ideas from 0→1 through launch and scale.

This is a player-coach role — you’ll lead and mentor a team of designers while staying hands-on with the most important product problems.

What You'll Do

  • Own the design strategy and vision for key product areas.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to identify problems, shape solutions, and influence product direction.
  • Take products from concept to launch, balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Create simple, intuitive, and delightful experiences for complex customer problems.
  • Maintain a high bar for product thinking, interaction design, visual design, and craft.
  • Use customer insights, data, research, and experimentation to inform design decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product designers.
  • Build a culture of strong craft, feedback, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Partner with leadership on design hiring, team structure, and capability building.
  • Stay hands-on and contribute directly to high-impact product initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • 8–12+ years of product design experience.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of product designers.
  • Strong track record of building and shipping consumer-facing products.
  • Strong product thinking and the ability to influence strategy beyond design execution.
  • Excellent understanding of UX, interaction, visual design, and product craft.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with high ownership.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing product thinking, craft, leadership, and shipped work.
