Currently, we are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer. with a strong English level to join our team. Here are the challenges that our next warrior will face and the requirements we look for:

Position Title: Senior DevOps Engineer.

 

Location: Medellin, Colombia

What you will be doing:

  • Continuous Integration and Delivery: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to automate building, testing, provisioning, and deploying Java applications in a hybrid-cloud environment.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize tools such as Terraform and Ansible to deploy and manage infrastructure, ensuring maintainability, observability, and security.
  • Site Reliability: Act as a site reliability engineer to ensure systems are stable, available, and performant. This includes implementing site reliability principles such as redundancy, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with both remote and internal software development teams to define infrastructure needs and deploy code efficiently.
  • Security and Compliance: Assist in implementing security practices within CI/CD pipelines, even though deep expertise in security is not mandatory.
  • Learning and Adaptability: Adapt to new tools and technologies that may enhance deployment and management processes, such as minimal use of containerization technologies and potential scaling solutions.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

 

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 4 years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability, with a proven track record in a senior role.

Technical Proficiency:

 

  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, and IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience in configuring and managing Linux environments and cloud DevOps platforms like Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks is beneficial, although not a requirement for mastery of specific tools like Selenium or JUnit.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for automation tasks, with a preference for Python, Bash, and Groovy.

 

Educational Background:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively interact with multiple teams.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage stress within fast-paced environments.
  • Independent work ethic and proactive management of tasks and responsibilities.

 

Optional But Valued

  • Containerization Knowledge: Basic understanding of Docker and Kubernetes for testing and minimal deployment tasks. More extensive use is seen as beneficial but not required.
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools like Prometheus or Grafana would be advantageous for performance tuning and monitoring.
