About Meadow

Meadow is the modern payments platform for higher education that simplifies the entire student financial experience. We're transforming the $600 Billion higher education payments industry in the United States — building for universities what Shopify built for retail businesses, and bringing the entire student financial experience online.

The need for a platform like Meadow has never been greater. If you're passionate about our mission to empower students financially and strengthen economic mobility through higher education — and you're excited to join a highly ambitious, talented team — we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Overview

As a Product Manager at Meadow, you'll embed within one of our Product Engineering pods to own its roadmap, run discovery with schools, and decide what we build and why. Product, Design, and Engineering all join early-stage discovery conversations with schools' Student Accounts offices, so you'll be shaping solutions alongside the people who build and use the product from day one.

We're looking for a Product Manager who is excited about building in both traditional UI and newer agentic paradigms. You should be comfortable working with LLMs and MCPs, and interested in building Meadow's own agents and connectors. Projects might range from traditional checkout UX on a point-of-sale device to agent orchestration and live trace analysis of our billing support agent.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Product Officer.

What You'll Do

  • You'll own the roadmap for your pod, and prioritize its work against Meadow's strategic business goals.
  • You'll be the voice of your pod across the company. CX, Sales, and Leadership should always understand what you're building, why, and when it ships.
  • You'll build relationships with Student Accounts offices at a handful of partner schools, meet with them regularly, and ship products they plan to adopt.
  • You'll run discovery, define scope, and write clear specs that give designers and engineers what they need to move fast.
  • You'll explore where agents can replace or augment traditional workflows for schools and students.
  • You'll define success metrics up front, then use data to report back on whether a project moved the needle — and be candid about what we learned when it didn’t.
  • You'll ship multiple high-impact products within your first six months that contribute to meaningful product expansion.

About You

What Your Bring

  • Demonstrated 0-1 Experience and/or Early Stage Startup (Seed, Series A) Experience
  • 3+ Years of Experience in Product Management. Bonus: Exposure to FinTech, Payments, and/or Higher Ed.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills: You can make a case to an engineer and a school's CFO in the same afternoon.
  • A Bias to Action & Sense of Urgency
  • You don’t need to be a technical PM — i.e. to be able to write SQL or HTML or JavaScript. But, you should be able to use AI to understand our codebase well enough to gauge what's hard vs. easy, and to hold your own in conversations with our Product Designers and Software Engineers.

Location

Meadow is a remote-friendly organization with offices in New York, NY and San Mateo, CA, and we're currently seeking candidates based in the United States.

With that said, our Chief Product Officer (Nathan) and Senior Product Designer (Amanda) choose to work from Meadow's New York, NY Office 3-5+ Days/Week — and we welcome candidates who are interested in working in-person alongside them!

Please note that Meadow does not currently offer relocation support and/or visa sponsorship for this role.

Compensation and Benefits

Meadow wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to compensation and benefits. The initial annual salary for this position is expected to be $135,150-$198,500 USD. Actual compensation will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.

In addition to the chance to positively impact the world while building a company around a $600B opportunity, Meadow offers:

  • Competitive Salary
  • Competitive Equity
  • 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan
  • Subsidized Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance (with HSA & FSA Plans Available)
  • Flexible Paid Time Off
  • Paid Company Holidays
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • 1-2 Onsites Per Year
  • Membership in an Ambitious, Kind, No-Drama Team

We believe in hiring adaptable, curious, and fast-learning people who are eager to develop their skills every day. If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align exactly with the job description, we encourage you to go ahead and apply. You may be just the right candidate for this role.

Meadow is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity in all its forms, and we encourage our employees to participate as their authentic selves in our work environment. We strive to build better for all, towards a more open, inclusive space. Come as you are.
