Project Manager - Remote Boston MA Area (PMO)

Description

The Project Manager is responsible for managing billable customer projects from startup through closure, achieving measurable customer satisfaction and business outcomes. This role works directly with clients, internal delivery teams, practice leaders, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project deliverables align with approved scope, schedule, budget, acceptance criteria, and client objectives. The Project Manager provides disciplined governance, proactive communication, financial oversight, risk management, and issue resolution across multiple concurrent technology services engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer projects from startup through closure using established PMO methodology, internal tools, and required governance processes.
  • Confirm project objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, acceptance criteria, roles, and responsibilities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, forecasts, status reports, meeting records, and required project documentation.
  • Lead client-facing kickoff, progress, governance, and closeout meetings; communicate timely and accurate project information to stakeholders.
  • Maintain RAID logs, including risks, issues, actions, and decisions; assign owners, monitor due dates, remove obstacles, and escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and manage the activities of internal teams, external partners, vendors, and customer resources across projects involving multiple technologies, resources, or locations.
  • Manage simultaneous engagements and competing requests while maintaining focus on scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer expectations.
  • Monitor project financials, billings, revenue, margin, resource consumption, and forecasts; provide accurate updates to management and address variances.
  • Manage scope against the applicable statement of work and ensure out-of-scope requests are documented and addressed through the appropriate change control, change order, or event notice process.
  • Hold project team members accountable for commitments, deliverable quality, time entry, and adherence to project and quality-management processes.
  • Obtain required approvals and signoffs, oversee delivery and review of project assets, and complete administrative and operational closure activities.
  • Use ServiceNow and other approved enterprise platforms to maintain current project, portfolio, financial, resource, and status information.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of PMO processes, procedures, templates, delivery standards, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Support customer relationship management and business development activities by serving as a professional, trusted project delivery advisor.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required:

  • Four-year college degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant project management experience, including customer-facing responsibility for external projects in an IT professional services, consulting, or technology delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple workstreams, technologies, resources, vendors, or customer locations.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and within budget while meeting agreed customer expectations and business outcomes.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, risks, issues, actions, decisions, change controls, acceptance criteria, and project closure.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities, address escalations, resolve obstacles, and communicate decisions and impacts clearly.
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, leadership, business writing, presentation, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, collaboration platforms, and project or portfolio management systems.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer or business locations as required; travel is not expected to exceed 50 percent.

Preferred:

  • PMP, CAPM, or comparable project management certification.
  • Experience using ServiceNow for project, portfolio, resource, financial, or status management.
  • Experience managing large or high-complexity customer engagements, including projects valued at $500,000 or more.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, cloud, data center, networking, data, managed services, or other technology services engagements.
  • Experience contributing to PMO process improvement, delivery methodology, templates, standards, or operational maturity initiatives.

Work Environment: This role is typically performed in a professional office or remote/hybrid work environment. The position requires regular use of a computer, collaboration tools, email, phone, virtual meeting platforms, and enterprise business systems. The role involves frequent interaction with clients, internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders across multiple locations and time zones. Travel to customer, partner, team, or business locations may be required.

Base Salary Range: $95,000 to $130,000  Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
