Full description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager on-site in Cape Town, South Africa to join our project team within the real estate development and construction business, focusing on boutique hospitality assets.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. You should be able to work independently on day-to-day tasks, coordinate effectively with the project team, and provide accurate reports and updates regularly. You will be a member of a growing Project Management Office and will collaborate closely with the entire design and construction team, including architects, interior designers, structural and MEP engineers, the FF&E procurement team, and client representatives.

This role will focus primarily on construction execution, contractor management, and schedule delivery, with engagement in cost control, risk management, and project planning throughout the lifecycle.

We expect you to be fluent in English and proficient in software such as Google Sheets, AutoCAD, and Revit. Knowledge of procurement, tender management, contract administration, and construction processes is also required.

To succeed in this role, you should have excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, be punctual, detail-oriented, and motivated to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality.

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Work Experience:
  • Proven experience in construction project coordination, project management (+6 years).
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel, Google Sheets, AutoCAD) as well as data analysis (Power BI, Looker Studio).
  • Experience in data analysis, including cost tracking, schedule performance metrics, and trend reporting

Responsabilities

  • Plan and schedule construction activities to ensure timely project completion
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met
  • Support procurement efforts by obtaining quotes and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Track project progress, identify potential delays, and propose corrective actions
  • Monitor construction budgets, ensuring cost control and financial reporting accuracy
  • Prepare and review contracts, work orders, and change orders
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, schedules, and meeting minutes
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders and support resolution of construction-related issues, ensuring alignment on project goals.
