SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
Location: Davao, Philippines Contract Type: Full-time Experience: 5+ years Department: IT Infrastructure Reporting to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO) / IT Infrastructure Department

YOUR ROLE
As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of DataOne’s IT systems and infrastructure.
Working closely with the CTO, IT Infrastructure team, and other technical teams, you will help ensure the availability, reliability, performance, and security of our systems.
You will also contribute to infrastructure automation, incident resolution, backup and disaster recovery, system documentation, and the continuous improvement of our IT environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers across Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain software and operating systems.
- Monitor systems and infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Manage and monitor backups and disaster recovery plans.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical incidents.
- Automate infrastructure deployments and system configurations.
- Manage Windows Server environments, including operating system and software deployment and configuration.
- Administer and maintain Debian Linux environments.
- Support networking environments including L2/L3, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Implement and maintain monitoring solutions using Prometheus and Grafana.
- Use Ansible and GitLab CI/CD to automate deployments and configuration processes.
- Develop and maintain scripts using Bash and Python.
- Manage logging solutions including rsyslog and Fluent Bit.
- Work with infrastructure technologies including HAProxy, BIND, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and LibreNMS.
- Apply a security-first approach across infrastructure projects and daily operations.
- Document systems, configurations, procedures, and technical processes.
- Track and manage assigned IT projects and technical tasks.
- Respond quickly and effectively to critical technical incidents.
- Identify potential improvements and proactively recommend solutions.
YOUR PROFILE
- 5+ years of experience in System Administration, IT Infrastructure, or a similar technical position.
- Strong experience with Windows Server and Debian Linux.
- Good understanding of networking concepts, including L2/L3, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible.
- Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD.
- Scripting capabilities with Bash and/or Python.
- Experience with logging and monitoring environments.
- Knowledge of HAProxy, BIND, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and LibreNMS is highly valued.
- Experience managing backups and disaster recovery processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident-resolution skills.
- Good understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Autonomous, proactive, structured, and results-oriented.
- Ability to work effectively within an international and highly technical environment.
- Strong willingness to continuously learn and expand technical skills.
