For our Business Unit Chemicals within Base Chemical Solutions Europe, we are looking for a commercially driven and entrepreneurial Product Manager (m/f/d) – Maleic Anhydride.
This is not a traditional product management role. As Product Manager at HELM, you will take full commercial responsibility for Maleic Anhydride, a strategic product within our European base chemicals portfolio.
Working at the intersection of markets, purchasing, sales, supply chain, and strategy, you will drive profitable growth, identify new opportunities, manage risks, and contribute directly to the success of our international business.
Your Responsibilities:
At HELM, Product Managers do more than coordinate activities—they actively shape markets, build partnerships, and run their business with a high degree of ownership and autonomy. Your tasks in detail:
- Take ownership of Maleic Anhydride within our European base chemicals business.
- Drive profitable growth through portfolio management, pricing decisions, and commercial initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and other market stakeholders.
- Monitor market developments, pricing trends, competitive activities, and regulatory changes.
- Negotiate purchase and sales contracts while evaluating opportunities and risks.
- Develop and execute short- and mid-term commercial strategies.
- Collaborate closely with our European sales teams to grow existing and new customer business.
- Explore international business opportunities together with colleagues in Asia and the Americas.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning through market analysis.
- Work closely with Supply Chain Operations Management to optimize inventories and value chains.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives to strengthen HELM’s market position and long-term growth.
Your Profile:
- Degree in business, economics, chemistry, engineering, agriculture, supply chain management, logistics, or a comparable field.
- Initial professional experience in product management, procurement, sales, business development, commercial management, portfolio management, or a related function.
- Experience in the chemical industry is an advantage, but not essential.
- Understanding of market dynamics, supply and demand fundamentals, pricing mechanisms, contracts, and value chains.
- Commercial mindset combined with strong analytical skills and an entrepreneurial approach.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Team-oriented, resilient, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- Professional proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Familiarity with common business applications such as MS Office, Salesforce, and SAP S/4HANA.
