POSITION PURPOSE:
The Network Administrator III role is responsible for designing, managing and optimizing in-house network and computer systems to ensure high levels of availability and security of the IT infrastructure. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system and network provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Administration
- Build and maintain network infrastructure, including Palo Alto firewall, VPN, and Cisco route/switch/phone architecture as well as Microsoft Windows Server architecture and the hardware associated with it.
- Serve as network engineering interface for Systems administrators, business application administrators, and database administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives
- Manage communications and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company web sites, intranet, and internet application
- Oversee direction/support to optimize infrastructure & applications ecosystem
- Build and support LAN/WAN environment, including wireless and Always-On VPN, as well as perform recurring network and security audits
- Integrate with business to provide IT support for special projects (i.e., business acquisition/divestiture, systems deployments, etc.)
Team
- Tier III escalation for complex issues
- Serve as primary network engineer interface for overlapping responsibilities with System Admin + Security Admin resources
- Participate in collaborative, team-based approach to provide effective IT services delivery
Governance
- Support disaster recovery/business continuity programs as well as long term strategic goals and planning
- Ensure system configurations are consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and any regulatory or compliance requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Microsoft/Cisco/Palo Certifications preferred
Knowledge & Experience
- 6+ years’ experience with Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 administration required
- 4+ years’ experience with network/server administration required
- Active Directory, Windows client/server platforms experience required
- Experience with Cisco networking technologies, including security, routing, switching & voice systems required
- Proficiency with OSI model required
- Experience with Tier 1 networking carrier preferred
