Job Summary:
The Tax Digital Transformation & Innovation practice at BDO USA drives the success of our business through intuitive and human-first digital experiences that our employees and clients engage with. We're elevating the way tax professionals deliver services to our clients and the way we help them manage their taxes and tax strategies.
The Senior Product Designer plays a key role in contributing to the quality and adoption of digital experiences across our tax products and platforms. This role partners closely with design leads, product, and technology teams to craft thoughtful, usable designs for complex, data heavy tax solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong visual and interaction design fundamentals with a clear point of view, a highly collaborative approach collaborating with product teams, and uses appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks and design systems to create artifacts that may include rapid prototypes, journey maps, and high fidelity design concepts.
This role focuses on design execution for our existing and new tax experiences, while continuously improving the quality and effectiveness of design across Digital Transformation & Innovation organization.
Job Duties:
- Contributes to design workstreams for assigned products or features, supporting zero to one initiatives as well as iterative enhancements
- Designs intuitive and user-friendly interfaces and experiences for complex and technical tax products, grounded in human-centered design principles
- Creates and maintains wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, prototypes, and visual designs to clearly communicate interaction and design intent
- Uses data, research insights, and creative problem-solving to support customer-centered design decisions across projects
- Collaborates closely with product managers and engineers in a highly iterative product development process, building on ideas together through continuous experimentation and refinement
- Presents design concepts and recommendations to product teams and stakeholders, incorporating feedback effectively
- Contribute to the evolution of our design system and interaction patterns, ensuring experiences remain cohesive, scalable, and high quality across our products and tools.
- Supports Tax Digital Transformation & Innovation initiatives through strong design execution and cross team collaboration
- Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Design or Human-Computer Interaction, preferred
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of experience in UI/UX product design or related field, required
- A strong portfolio of shipped product design work - polished Ul, clear thinking, and evidence of good judgment, preferred
- Experience in using qualitative insights, experimentation, and product data to inform design decisions, preferred
- Strong prototyping skills with a maker mindset, using prototypes to regularly explore ideas, test concepts, and drive collaboration, preferred
- A high level of curiosity in Al and interaction patterns, with an active interest in the latest capabilities, tools, and emerging user behaviors, preferred
License/Certifications:
- Certification in UX Design or Interaction Design, preferred
Software:
- Fluency in Figma and other design and prototyping software, preferred
- Experience with LLMs and other agentic tools in the product design process (e.g., Figma Make, Claude Code, v0, GitHub CoPilot), preferred

- Knowledge of leading practices in conducting user research and usability testing, with a data-driven approach to design

- Strong organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
