MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior/Lead Data Scientist to join our team, with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity, spending 2 days per week at a local MANTECH office in Raleigh, NC, Arlington, VA, or Charlottesville, VA.

The Senior/Lead Data Scientist will apply their strong technical background in Python and expertise in advanced AI/ML solutions to (1) design, develop, and validate marketing mix models or other causal models, (2) build LLM-powered MVP-type applications and tools, and (3) contribute to or lead other general data science projects. You will translate complex data into actionable insights while working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a hybrid work environment (2 days per week on-site at a MANTECH office).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Developing, testing, and validating marketing mix models (MMM) or other causal models, where standard model fit metrics alone are insufficient.

· Rapidly prototyping and building production-ready MVPs using Python, Snowflake, Microsoft Copilot, and other components.

· Engaging directly with technical and non-technical clients to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable analytical solutions.

· Establishing or communicating best practices for modeling and data science to ensure model accuracy, reliability, and business impact across complex data environments.

· Collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams to drive data science best practices and communicate technical findings to customer leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in data science and machine learning.

· Proven hands-on experience building and deploying tools or systems in Python that make use of generative AI (e.g., RAG pipelines, agentic workflow, or similar using Python).

· Demonstrated expertise in building and validating marketing mix modeling (MMM) or other causal models.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of working directly with technical and non-technical clients.

· Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field with 7 to 8+ years of relevant data science experience.

· Deep technical background in advanced causal inference, experiment design, or econometrics.

· Experience leading technical teams or acting as a primary liaison between customer stakeholders and engineering groups.

· Experience with the R programming language in data science or statistics.

· Self-starter with excellent people skills - able to work across teams, organize meetings/boards, and drive change throughout an organization.

Clearance Requirements:

US citizenship required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $105,300.00-$175,500.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
