Key Responsibilities

Cybersecurity

  • Design, implement, and maintain security controls to protect systems, networks, and data
  • Monitor security tools (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners) and respond to alerts/incidents
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and remediation planning
  • Manage endpoint and network security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls
  • Lead incident response efforts and support post-incident analysis and reporting

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC, or similar frameworks
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Support internal and external audits, including evidence collection and remediation tracking
  • Perform third-party risk assessments and vendor security reviews
  • Maintain risk register and track mitigation activities

Security Awareness & Training

  • Promote a culture of security through awareness training and best practices
  • Educate employees on cybersecurity risks, phishing prevention, and compliance requirements

Collaboration & Improvement

  • Partner with IT, engineering, and operations teams to embed security into systems and processes
  • Stay current on emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory changes
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvements to the organization’s security posture
