Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls to protect systems, networks, and data
- Monitor security tools (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners) and respond to alerts/incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and remediation planning
- Manage endpoint and network security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls
- Lead incident response efforts and support post-incident analysis and reporting
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC, or similar frameworks
- Develop, maintain, and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Support internal and external audits, including evidence collection and remediation tracking
- Perform third-party risk assessments and vendor security reviews
- Maintain risk register and track mitigation activities
Security Awareness & Training
- Promote a culture of security through awareness training and best practices
- Educate employees on cybersecurity risks, phishing prevention, and compliance requirements
Collaboration & Improvement
- Partner with IT, engineering, and operations teams to embed security into systems and processes
- Stay current on emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory changes
- Recommend and implement continuous improvements to the organization’s security posture
