Position based Barcelona
Role
The project manager will lead the delivery of superyacht new-build or refit projects, including all aspects of design, manufacturing, construction, testing, commissioning, and delivery. The project manager will assist the senior project manager/owner representative. The Project manager will have the support of a project management office. The role will report to the senior project manager and the Director of Projects.
Profile
- Demonstrable track record in delivering new build or refit superyacht projects in the role of owner's project manager.
- Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multi-disciplinary capital projects working with geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong shipbuilding/ship repair background and qualification in either a project management, naval architect, or marine engineering discipline.
- Strong leadership skills coupled with effective communication skills.
- Will possess strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
- Good negotiator.
- Team player and experienced people manager.
Skills
- Will demonstrate knowledge of all elements of modern superyacht design and construction, including but not limited to naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering, HVAC, navigation and communications systems, audio-visual systems, fairing and painting, and interior and exterior outfitting disciplines.
- Will demonstrate knowledge of all shipbuilding and ship repair production techniques and processes, including but not limited to dry-docking/lifting/hauling/undocking/launching.
- Will demonstrate knowledge of all applicable IMO. Classification Society and Flag Administration conventions, rules and regulations.
- Will demonstrate knowledge and experience of modern international project management standards.
- Will demonstrate ability to identify, plan, and execute work in accordance with international project management standards.
- Proficient in the use of modern project management software tools and applications.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications and databases.
- Working-level knowledge of the Spanish language is desirable.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree-level qualification in naval architecture or marine engineering, or other applicable engineering qualification
- Demonstrable track record in delivering new build or refit superyacht projects in the role of project manager.
- Internationally recognised project management qualification (IPMA, APM, PMI or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
- Will have the right to live and work in Europe, specifically Spain.
