ROLE TITLE: Graphic Designer

POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Design & Publications

As a Graphic Designer, you will:

  • Be the contributing or lead designer for projects including collateral, environmental graphics, event promotion, and social media for client projects across campus.
  • Initiate and attend planning meetings and independently communicate throughout a project’s lifespan in order to meet client goals and expectations.
  • Perform daily project tracking, timeline management, and coordination with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications office.
  • Support photo shoots, installation, and project management as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field – or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1-3 years experience required

Required Knowledge:

  • Understanding of effective client communication; ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies, including various College departments and stakeholders, such as students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • The design of and importance of branding systems, and a working knowledge of design history through current trends.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products

Required Skills:

  • Application of visual design standards, and awareness and/or knowledge of design requirements for a variety of mediums.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with strong interpersonal and communication (oral, presentation, written) skills and the ability to use tact and sound judgment in all activities.
  • Experience with editing and optimizing images for use in various media

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize within multiple deadlines, and to work independently when necessary.
  • A commitment to continual learning and self-education.
  • Collaborative spirit, ready and excited to work with a skilled team both virtually and in-person.
  • Some assignments may require day travel within the region for College-sponsored events, as well as opportunity for professional development.
