This is a Staff-level security engineering role serving as the primary security partner for a high-impact decentralized storage platform.You’ll shape security architecture from the earliest design stages through deployment, helping engineering teams build secure systems by default.The role combines hands-on security engineering, architectural assessment, automation, and strategic security leadership.You’ll identify complex risks across infrastructure, applications, and cryptographic systems while developing practical remediation strategies.You’ll also use AI-driven security tooling and advanced automation to improve detection and remediation at scale.Working closely with engineering leadership, you’ll influence the security roadmap while balancing strong security practices with product velocity.The role offers significant technical influence, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to help establish security standards across a fast-growing Web3 environment.

Accountabilities:
- Serve as the primary security partner for the decentralized storage engineering team, providing architectural guidance and embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Lead security assessments for new platform features, identifying systemic risks, architectural weaknesses, and other high-impact security concerns.
- Develop actionable remediation strategies for complex security challenges and help engineering teams implement them effectively.
- Establish and promote a security-by-design approach, ensuring security considerations are incorporated before implementation begins.
- Contribute to broader infrastructure, application, and product security initiatives, providing generalist security oversight across interconnected systems.
- Build, deploy, and manage automated security tooling that improves vulnerability detection, analysis, and remediation.
- Leverage AI/ML capabilities, static analysis, dynamic analysis, and other advanced automation to address scalable security challenges and reduce repetitive work.
- Partner with engineering leadership to prioritize security investments and roadmap initiatives while balancing risk, product requirements, and development velocity.
- Mentor security and engineering professionals, establish technical direction, and promote security best practices across the organization.
- Balance hands-on technical execution with longer-term security strategy, helping mature security practices within a rapidly growing engineering environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional security engineering experience, with demonstrated Staff-level or equivalent technical leadership.
- Broad security expertise spanning infrastructure, application, and cryptographic security domains.
- Strong experience designing, building, deploying, and managing automated security tooling in production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI/ML, advanced static analysis, dynamic analysis, or comparable technologies to improve security outcomes at scale.
- Deep experience partnering with engineering teams during architecture and design to identify and mitigate high-risk security issues proactively.
- Strong understanding of security architecture, threat identification, risk assessment, and practical remediation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and balance tactical security work with strategic planning.
- Strong mentoring and technical leadership capabilities, with the ability to establish standards and raise security maturity across engineering teams.
- Preferred: Technical understanding of decentralized storage, distributed systems, blockchain, or broader Web3 technologies.
- Preferred: Experience leading security transformations or implementing security-by-design frameworks in high-growth engineering organizations.
- Preferred: Experience balancing hands-on security engineering with long-term security strategy and organizational leadership.
