This role is part of our Space and Launch business, which has contributed to the nation’s space programs for decades by delivering complete solutions from concept to flight. We enable successful space operations with mission-critical technology supporting every step from first launch to final landing, including launch vehicle subsystems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic and interstage systems, and payload protection and deployment. Our high-performance solutions are engineered to operate in the most extreme environments and meet precise mission requirements.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering activities that drive the design, development, and optimization of machining processes and products in an automated manufacturing environment. You will guide a team of engineers to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions, collaborating across functions to meet project objectives and advance operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and mentors engineering team members, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals and schedules.
  • Oversees the design and development of machining processes and products in an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborates with internal and external cross-functional teams to integrate engineering solutions seamlessly.
  • Manages project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful completion.
  • Implements and maintains quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Stays current with industry trends and machining technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in machining/manufacturing, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes and technologies.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Proficiency with MasterCAM and Vericut.
  • Understanding of Development Integrated Master Schedules.
