POSITION SUMMARY:

The Network Security Administrator I helps build, secure, and support a resilient, modern technology environment across corporate offices and manufacturing facilities. This hands-on role works with cloud-connected networks, next-generation security platforms, identity and access controls, and operational technology while collaborating with business teams and technology partners to deliver reliable, secure services.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Administer, monitor, and continuously improve secure LAN, WAN, wireless, internet, VPN, and cloud connectivity across corporate and manufacturing locations
  • Support modern network and security technologies, including next-generation firewalls, SD-WAN, network access control, secure remote access, segmentation, and resilient connectivity.
  • Monitor network and security platforms, investigate alerts and performance issues, identify root causes, and coordinate timely remediation
  • Assist with incident response, vulnerability management, risk assessments, and the implementation of corrective and preventive security controls
  • Manage and review identity, privileged access, third-party access, and network access controls using least-privilege and zero-trust principles
  • Partner with infrastructure, applications, and operations teams to securely integrate cloud services, business systems, manufacturing technology, and vendor solutions
  • Support the security and availability of operational technology and controls networks, including secure segmentation and managed third-party connectivity
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, asset records, procedures, standards, and incident documentation
  • Use monitoring, logging, and performance data to improve availability, capacity, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness
  • Plan and implement hardware, software, firmware, configuration, and security updates in accordance with change-management practices
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical improvements that simplify operations, reduce risk, and support business growth
  • Coordinate with service providers and technology vendors, track issues through resolution, and verify that solutions meet operational and security requirements
  • Provide responsive technical support, communicate clearly with users and stakeholders, and contribute to security awareness and knowledge sharing
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance activities as required
  • Work in a safe manner compliant with Company safety procedures and regulations
  • Report food safety and quality concerns to personnel authorized to initiate action

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, networking, computer science, or a related field, with 5 or more years of relevant hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or related technologies; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, networking, computer science, or a related field, with 3 or more years of relevant hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or related technologies; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, relevant hands-on experience, training, and industry certifications demonstrating the knowledge and skills required to successfully perform the role will be considered
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, wireless networking, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, network segmentation, and secure remote access.
  • Familiarity with cloud and hybrid infrastructure, identity and access management, multifactor authentication, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and centralized monitoring or logging
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, interpret performance and security data, document findings, and drive issues to resolution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and security issues to both technical and non-technical audiences and work effectively with IT teams, business stakeholders, plant operations, and external vendors
  • Strong service orientation, sound judgment, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work independently while appropriately escalating risks and issues
  • Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning, with an interest in emerging networking technologies, cybersecurity threats, cloud services, OT security, and evolving security best practices
  • Industry certifications such as Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, or comparable credentials are valued but not required

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands
  • Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with a potential of up to 25 pounds
  • Sedentary office environment
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.)
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing Plant).
  • Regular local travel between manufacturing facilities (17 miles)
  • Occasional out of state travel (when necessary, at least once per year)
