Our client base today includes hundreds of investors and asset managers monitoring more than $5.9 trillion in invested capital with 8 of the 10 largest GPs and 5 of the 10 largest LPs using Chronograph.
The Opportunity
Bring your expertise to a highly collaborative, creative, and innovative team with a market-leading technology product suite. We are seeking a Product Manager to own the Private Equity vertical for our General Partner (GP) product suite.
As Product Manager, GP Portfolio Monitoring (Private Equity), you will report to the Head of Product and join an established team of GP product managers. You will own the Private Equity vertical and roadmap, while partnering with your peers on the shared platform. You’ll work closely with leading private equity firms who run their valuation, reporting, and portfolio monitoring functions through Chronograph, to understand their business needs, identify technology solutions, and build a prioritized roadmap. Strong communication skills, including a deep understanding of private equity terminology and an ability to communicate with sophisticated private market investors, is a must.
Direct front or middle office experience at a private equity firm, whether in investing, valuations, portfolio monitoring, or investor relations, is required. Subsequent experience as a Product or Engineering professional, or an undergraduate degree in engineering or a related technical field, is strongly preferred. At minimum, candidates must demonstrate an absolute passion for technology, aptitude for engaging with technical concepts, and deep AI proficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move from finance into tech at a leading fintech platform. You'll be in good company - much of our Product and Engineering leadership share the same background as investors turned technologists.
As the Product Manager of our GP Product, you will:
- Own the Private Equity vertical of the GP Product, from vision through delivery
- Build and maintain a detailed product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on business needs, technical feasibility, and resource availability
- Develop a deep understanding of client use cases to deliver creative and thoughtful solutions
- Define innovative technology solutions that work at scale, accounting for the varied preferences and operational realities across firms
- Work closely with a best-in-class Engineering team to deliver high-quality product features in a timely and efficient manner
- Build excitement in the market for our product vision via regular client engagement and roadmap presentations
- Embrace and make use of cutting edge product philosophies and tools, including LLMs and prototyping platforms
You will be successful in this role if you have:
- Direct front or middle-office experience in private equity investing, valuations, analytics, portfolio monitoring, or investor relations
- Direct experience implementing or utilizing PE technology, whether a competitive or adjacent platform (e.g. CRM), with a demonstrated understanding of your firm's data strategy
- Data fluency and deep familiarity with portfolio monitoring operations: valuation cycles, chart-of-accounts and KPI taxonomies, data reconciliation, reporting cycles, and capital call and distribution processes
- Lived intuition for where these workflows break and how technology closes the gap
- Strong product judgement, with an instinct to generalize solutions across many firms rather than rebuild any single firm's process
- An undergraduate degree in engineering, or equivalent professional technology experience, and an aptitude for engaging with technical concepts
- Demonstrated AI proficiency. You can point to specific ways you already use AI in your work and the results it produced. A strong interest in where AI is taking the product is required
- Great communication skills and an ability to tailor your messaging to stakeholders across finance and engineering
- An understanding of what it takes to ship high-quality SaaS products and features at scale
- Positive attitude, sense of humor, and creativity
Nice to haves:
- Prior experience using Chronograph or a competing GP portfolio monitoring platform
- Prior experience implementing or building internal tools, data pipelines, or reporting workflows inside a GP
- Prior experience in product management, or collaborating closely with technical teams
Even if you do not meet all criteria, we would still encourage you to apply or get in touch! Chronograph offers an entrepreneurial environment where you will be able to proactively identify opportunities to develop and strengthen our team.
