About Stello
Stello is an AI transformation firm. We build AI agents that take over operational workflows for mid-market and enterprise companies. Our clients range from professional sports teams to public insurers and financial services firms. Some of them trade on the NASDAQ and NYSE.
The role
As a Solutions Engineer, you sit between engineering and the people we sell to. You learn the workflow behind a prospect's problem, build a working proof of what an agent can do with it, and teach their team how it works.
You work with our Account Executives, who own the relationship and the deal. You own the technical story: what we will build, how it connects to their systems, and why it will hold up in production.
What you will do
Build
- Join discovery calls, and map the prospect's workflow, systems, and data.
- Get into unfamiliar codebases and tech stacks quickly.
- Build demos and proofs of concept with real or realistic data, using coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor.
- Design agents that are reliable, auditable, and keep a person in the loop where it matters.
- Write the technical scope for each deal, so the delivery team can start without a gap.
Explain and teach
- Answer technical, security, and integration questions from the prospect's IT team.
- Explain what AI can do in plain words to people who are not technical.
- Lead workshops that take a client team from watching AI to using it in their own work.
- Test new models and tools as they come out, and have an informed opinion about them.
- Bring what you learn from prospects back to product and engineering.
Examples of the work
- In one week, build a working agent that triages a prospect's support tickets, and show it to their leadership.
- Lead a call with a prospect's IT team about data access, and complete their security review.
- Turn a discovery call into a scope document with integrations, milestones, and success metrics.
What we look for
- 3+ years shipping production software from start to finish, as a solutions, sales, forward deployed, or software engineer.
- You use AI coding tools every day, and you know the current AI landscape well.
- You can turn a complex problem into a system that scales.
- You can teach technical ideas to people who are not technical.
- You can manage several prospects and projects at the same time without dropping quality.
- Bonus: public work such as open source, side projects, talks, or writing about applied AI.
How we work
This is a full-time remote role, open to candidates who are authorized to work in the United States. You report directly to the founders. You may travel to client sites when a project calls for it.
We are a small team. We review each other's work, share what we learn, and help when a teammate is stuck. People who deliver get more scope quickly.
