Overview

LMI is building authoritative Army logistics data products for Headquarters, Department of the Army, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for these capabilities.

This is an engineering-forward management role. The Engineering Manager will serve as the team’s supervisor while remaining directly involved in architecture, data engineering, ontology development, technical review, and production delivery.

This position is part of the team supporting the Army HQDA G-4 ELISS program, delivering innovative solutions that enable critical Army logistics and sustainment missions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and sustainment of authoritative Army logistics data products.
  • Lead and directly supervise a team of data engineers and data scientists.
  • Remain hands-on with data architecture, pipeline development, ontology, code review, and troubleshooting.
  • Establish engineering standards for quality, lineage, testing, source control, deployment, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Work with government stakeholders to translate logistics needs into technical priorities and deliverable capabilities.
  • Ensure data products are reliable, traceable, secure, and suitable for operational use.
  • Develop engineers through technical direction, mentoring, feedback, and performance management.
  • Provide trusted data foundations for downstream analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine-learning use cases.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ten or more years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, data architecture, or enterprise data delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or directly supervising technical professionals.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and modern data-engineering practices.
  • Experience building production data pipelines and data products using Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, or a comparable enterprise data platform.
  • Experience with data modeling, ontology development, data integration, and data-quality management.
  • Strong software-engineering fundamentals, including testing, source control, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
  • Experience supporting a Department of Defense customer.
  • Strong customer-facing and executive communication skills.
  • Active Secret clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the U.S. Army.
  • Experience with Army logistics, sustainment, supply, maintenance, or readiness data.
  • Direct experience with Army Vantage or Palantir Foundry.
  • Experience with PySpark or other distributed data-processing technologies.
  • Familiarity with Army logistics source systems and enterprise data environments.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, DevSecOps, or infrastructure as code.
  • Familiarity with Palantir Continue or comparable AI-assisted development tools.

The target salary range for this position is $135,000-$190,000.

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.  

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance. Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
