Full description

This role supports all phases of electrical construction projects, working under the guidance of a senior-level Project Manager. It involves hands-on field experience and progressive responsibility in scheduling, estimating, procurement, and customer relations. The Associate Project Manager will develop skills in project leadership, safety, waste elimination, and operational systems while ensuring projects are completed to high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Planning & Monitoring:

  • Help establish what is to be done on a week-to-week basis, when, and by whom
  • Analyze and forecast factors that affect results to maximize efficiency
  • Develop appropriate programs, strategies, and supervision
  • Will learn the scheduling process; take responsibility for it on assigned projects
  • Be trained to use estimating information to manage labor and material costs effectively
  • Share manpower, resources, and tools across branches as needed
  • Assist and work with Project Managers to manage resources, tooling, and permits as needed

Billing & Procurement Management:

  • Will learn the procurement process and will be responsible for ordering materials on assigned projects
  • Gain understanding of the collection and billing process; take responsibility for it on assigned projects
  • Manage billings

Project Execution & Operations:

  • Understand and assist in bidding jobs (including estimates, proposal specifications, drawings, and takeoff information)
  • Manage projects to deliver on customer requirements of scope, timeline, and budget
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project

Customer Satisfaction & Professional Development

  • Work with Project Managers to learn how develop and maintain relationships with customers; ensure high quality service is provided to guarantee sales
  • Take prompt action to resolve any customer complaints
  • Always be growing and improving both yourself and your entire team

Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination: 

  • Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task. 
  • Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention. 
  • Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents. 
  • Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
  • Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel. 

 

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management/Sciences, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Building Science, etc.), or related
  • Prior experience in contracting, engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with the electrical trade

Physical Requirements 

  • Office and site environments requiring sitting and standing. Travel to various work sites is essential, exposing employees to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk.
