Sr Financial Analyst, Assurant – India
The Senior Financial Analyst supports the Finance department by delivering independent and thorough financial research, analysis, and insights. The role evaluates complex information to identify key performance drivers and provides clear, data-based recommendations. This position is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial analysis that supports departmental objectives and informs sound business decisions.
This position will be in Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Chennai at our India location.
Work Hours – 3:30 PM – 12:30 AM IST (Evening Shift)
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Provide data, analysis and insight to support decision making by senior management.
- Primary contributor in the development of monthly and quarterly financial reviews, preparing reports and presentations for senior management.
- Perform a deep-dive analysis of budget, actuals, forecasts and develop insights for delivery to senior leadership.
- Create and maintain economic models for analysis purposes and preparation of business plans, reporting, research, and analysis for internal customers on a monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc basis.
- Take a key role in coordinating and managing the annual budgeting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and present special projects providing technical and financial support to facilitate the achievement of management objectives.
- Take on complex data analysis projects and prepare reports for senior leadership as needed.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous process improvement.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and special reporting as requested by business management; develop insights and recommendations to address specific financial challenges.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and data interpretation.
Skills & Competencies
- Competent in reviewing financial statements, identifying key business value drivers, and developing projected financial data.
- Understanding of how economic trends, political situations, policies, and regulations may affect business results.
- Strong general business knowledge to produce relevant research.
- Excellent communication and people skills to effectively work with other departments.
- Strong writing and presentation skills with the ability to distill and articulate complex concepts in an easily understood fashion.
- Initiative-taking self-starter ready to hit the ground running.
- Able to process complex time-sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and effectively communicate the related actions to a broad audience.
- Ability to face situations that are unstructured and require original approaches.
- Strong organizational, time management, problem solving and analytical skills.
Technology Requirements
- Advanced data analysis skills to structure/create data sets and synthesize information using Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- SQL Server, Power BI reporting & Alteryx experience a plus.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
- Experience with activity-based costing or resource tracking methodologies.
- Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
- Experience working in a shared services or multi-site operational environment.
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards and variance analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Experience supporting international operations or working in a global organization.
