Bay area California Compensation: $85,600 to $128,400

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for developing and producing financial reporting, models, and analysis that support the company’s supply chain and operations functions. This role partners with Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Logistics, Plant Leadership, Accounting, and Finance teams to evaluate operational performance, identify cost drivers, support monthly close and forecasting, and translate supply chain activity into clear financial insights. The Senior Financial Analyst will support long-range planning (LRP), annual operating planning (AOP), forecasting, standard costing, inventory analysis, cost of goods sold (COGS), working capital, cost savings initiatives, capital project analysis, monthly business reviews, and management reporting. Accuracy, operational curiosity, cross-functional partnership, and the ability to communicate actionable insights are critical components of this role. The person in this role will also help evolve and improve supply chain finance processes, reporting, and analytical tools to drive better visibility, accountability, and decision support.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Create and maintain detailed financial reporting and analysis for assigned areas of the business to identify issues, trends, and opportunities
  • Support month-end close and forecast process, inclusive of accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support long-range planning, annual planning and monthly forecasting process and develop reporting and models based on business needs; Enhance the company’s analytical story-telling through volume, price, mix analysis (VPM)
  • Support multi-entity, category and customer structure through partnering across the finance team to provide required analytical support
  • Ad-hoc reporting, special projects and other department support as needed
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the implementation and on-going maintenance of the company’s EPM system
  • Develop and deliver financial training to cross-functional teams
  • Document departmental policies and procedures, as requested

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree (B. or B. S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA | CPA a plus.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of related experience in finance, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods or retailer environment

SKILLS

  • Financial modeling, forecasting and scenario planning
  • Proficiency across P&L, cash flow and balance sheet; treasury knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of manufacturing financials, inclusive of sales, trade, cost of goods sold and SG&A
  • Cost and General accounting a plus
  • Proficiently skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and modeling
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Tools, especially Excel
  • Proficient with ERP, EPM, and/or manufacturing systems
  • Ability to work independently on a wide variety of projects
  • Understand basic fundamentals of supply chain management and production

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure
  • Ability to transform sales and plant and/or operations activity into financial data and reports (i.e. dollars and cents).
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and understand financial reporting and data.
  • Ability to apply financial acumen to a plant
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
