Job DetailsPosition Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: 25 - 50%Job Category: SalesPosition Summary Sales Engineer - West The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing new and existing customer relationships and creating technical and commercial solutions that address customer needs. This position works cross-functionally with Product Design, Tooling, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, Quality, and external suppliers to develop solutions from initial concept through production launch. The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing product pricing, negotiating commercial terms, and managing the financial performance of assigned products and/or product families throughout the product lifecycle, including production and service requirements. Responsibilities Develop and execute plans for new and existing customers. Conduct regular customer visits and identify new business opportunities. Translate customer needs into technical and commercial solutions. Lead cross-functional teams including Product Design, Tooling, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, and Quality. Identify suppliers, materials, components, and technologies needed for product development. Negotiate supplier and customer pricing. Develop product quotations, cost breakdowns, and final sales pricing. Monitor product profitability, volumes, costs, and pricing throughout the product lifecycle. Participate in customer trials and product launches. Provide technical presentations and respond to customer questions. Support Quality with customer concerns and warranty issues. Provide weeklyproject updates and monthly sales reports. Support Functions Transition purchased-part pricing and supporting documentation to Purchasing. Transition new technologies and processes to Manufacturing Engineering. Support development of job-specific quality and manufacturing processes. Support Quality in resolving customer concerns, technical questions, and warranty issues throughout the product lifecycle. QualificationsExperience and Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. 3+ years of technical sales, engineering, manufacturing, program management, or related experience preferred. Automotive or manufacturing experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills Strong technical and mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, costing, and pricing. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams. Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to travel as required.
