Strategy, Risk & Transactions (SR&T) is an end-to-end strategic advisory practice, enabling our C-suite clients to make informed, robust decisions and strategic choices. It integrates the full scale of Deloitte's M&A capabilities, consolidates Climate & Sustainability advisory capabilities, and tightens the connection between strategy development and risk management to assist clients with navigating uncertainty and change.

#AboutYourTeam

Forensics & Financial Crime is a key department within Strategy Risk & Transactions Advisory with an ambitious plan in terms of growth, innovation, talent management and market recognition. We help our clients, (large) corporates and financial institutions, to take advantage of the benefits of innovative new digital technology, support their digital transformation, regulatory compliance, control testing and credit and prudential transformation across the value chain, provide improved data‑driven leadership insights, and thus support growth and innovation. Our 90+ talented professionals are unified by a collaborative culture that fosters integrity, outstanding value to markets and clients, commitment to each other, and strength from cultural diversity.

#AboutYourRole

As an Consultant in our Forensics & Financial Crime team and the wider Strategy Risk & Transactions Advisory department, you will assist and consult directly with clients by performing analysis relating structured and non-structured data as part of end-to-end eDiscovery and Forensic analytical solutions. You will analyse client needs, oversee data collection and processing, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services. In this role you are expected to identify areas that require further development (for yourself and junior team members) and be aware of how these might impact delivery of projects (i.e., adequately perform QC checks on your own work). Typical responsibilities are:

  • Consult with clients to assess eDiscovery and analytics needs and design tailored end‑to‑end solutions (requirements capture, scope, legal/technical constraints).
  • Execute the eDiscovery lifecycle: identification, legal hold, preservation, collection (forensic imaging), processing, analysis (TAR/TDR/analytics), document review management and production.
  • Perform structured data and unstructured text analytics: data wrangling, de‑duplication, normalization, enrichment, entity‑resolution and anomaly detection.
  • Develop and apply advanced analytics (statistical methods, machine learning, NLP) to detect fraud patterns, suspicious transactions or compliance issues.
  • Analyse ERP systems to map transactional flows, trace funds across modules and entities, and identify anomalies or control gaps relevant to financial investigations.
  • Build, maintain and present dashboards and interactive visualizations translating complex datasets into clear, client‑facing graphics and executive summaries.
  • Perform quality control and validation checks across ingestion, processing and analytics to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Identify process and tooling improvement opportunities; propose automation and technology integration to accelerate delivery and reduce manual review.

#OurRequirements

Key Qualifications

  • Professional experience: At least 1-3 years of proven operational experience in IT, compliance, risk, audit, operations or related roles. Preferably, hands‑on exposure to eDiscovery or investigation workflows (identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, production) or analogous data‑intensive processes in IT/security/compliance functions
  • Technical skills: Proven hands-on experience with SQL and Python plus familiarity with ETL/data‑wrangling and dashboarding (Power BI, Tableau). Experience with mainstream investigation/eDiscovery platforms or similar enterprise tools (Relativity, Nuix, or equivalent), or with processing data from ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
  • Risk & regulation: Strong understanding of data governance, privacy and regulatory constraints (GDPR and equivalent), and practical experience applying these in cross‑functional projects.
  • Team support: Comfortable working in teams both virtually and in person; able to bring colleagues along — onboarding, guiding and supporting less‑experienced team members so they become effective contributors.
  • Professionalism & adaptability: Proactive, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility for tasks across different parts of a project; able to work in both client‑facing and supporting roles and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Language: Excellent written and spoken English.

Bonus Qualifications - [if applicable]

  • Financial Knowledge: knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (IFRS, ISA) or practical audit experience;.
  • Experience in forensic accounting techniques: transaction tracing, ratio analysis, sampling, journal entry testing and lifestyle/Benford analytics.
  • Qualifications: Relevant professional or compliance certifications progress towards them.
