About the Opportunity

Nodeworthy is supporting a Web3 technology company that helps blockchain projects execute large-scale token-distribution and ecosystem-growth campaigns.

The company builds and operates digital-asset infrastructure for its clients. Projects are delivered through short, parallel engagement cycles involving firm deadlines and real commercial consequences. Its systems must therefore remain accurate, responsive and reliable under heavy workloads.

The team is also conducting research and development for a new blockchain intelligence and data product.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own the company’s backend services throughout their lifecycle—from architecture and implementation to deployment and operation in production.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor position. It does not involve people management, sales or product design. The ideal candidate is proactive, comfortable working autonomously and willing to take full ownership of complex technical problems.

What You’ll Own

Backend Services

• Design, build and operate production backend services primarily in Rust.

• Make architectural decisions that balance performance, reliability and maintainability.

• Monitor services and resolve issues throughout their production lifecycle.

On-Chain Data Infrastructure

• Develop indexers and event-processing pipelines for blockchain data.

• Ensure internal data remains consistent with upstream blockchain states.

• Design systems that handle retries, duplicate events, partial failures and blockchain reorganisations correctly.

APIs and Data Services

• Build and maintain the APIs powering internal tools and client-facing dashboards.

• Design reliable interfaces for accessing and processing large volumes of on-chain data.

• Maintain clear and well-structured data models.

Data Accuracy

• Take ownership of the accuracy and consistency of figures generated by your services.

• Investigate discrepancies and explain how reported figures were derived.

• Implement appropriate validation, reconciliation and monitoring processes.

Production Releases

• Support client launches, production deployments and short-notice releases.

• Diagnose and resolve live production issues under time pressure.

• Create runbooks and improve operational processes following incidents.

Smart Contract Integration

• Build services that interact with smart contracts across supported blockchain networks.

• Work alongside smart-contract engineers and support contract deployment and maintenance when required.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

• Strong production experience with Rust, particularly asynchronous services, APIs and data-ingestion systems. This is the primary technology stack and the most important requirement.

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems, concurrency, data modelling and SQL.

• Experience building data-intensive or high-throughput systems where correctness is critical.

• Understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including EVM and/or Solana, RPC providers, event logs and indexers.

• Familiarity with smart contracts, including Rust-based development frameworks such as Anchor.

• Ability to diagnose production systems and make sound decisions under time pressure.

• Clear written English and the ability to produce runbooks and technical documentation.

• A proactive and accountable working style, with the ability to operate independently in a distributed team.

Nice to Have

• Experience in digital assets, trading, DeFi or financial infrastructure.

• Exposure to multiple blockchain ecosystems or cross-chain infrastructure.

• Experience building or operating blockchain indexing infrastructure.

• Experience supporting time-sensitive client or production launches.

Interview Process

1. Rust Technical Deep Dive

You will discuss a production service you have built, including:

• Its architecture and data model.

• How it handled failures and retries.

• How you verified the accuracy of its output.

• The technical trade-offs you made.

2. Practical Exercise

You will complete a focused Rust implementation exercise together with a data-processing problem.

3. Production Judgement

You will be presented with a scenario involving a live service reporting incorrect figures and asked to explain what you would investigate, in what order and why.

4. Technical Communication

You will be asked to share or discuss a runbook, technical document or engineering write-up you have authored.
