Join Veramed and Lead the Delivery of Cutting-Edge Clinical Trial Programmes

Veramed is a leading specialist CRO providing high-quality statistical programming, biostatistics, data management, and analytics services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Biometrics Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex clinical trial programmes across our Data Management, Biostatistics, and Statistical Programming functions.

This is a highly visible, client-facing leadership role that combines project delivery, financial management, operational oversight, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining excellent client relationships and driving operational excellence.

Biometrics Project Manager

Purpose The Biometrics Project Manager (BPM) is a cross-functional project leadership role accountable for managing biometrics delivery across Data Management, Biostatistics, and Statistical Programming. Operating within Veramed’s projects division, the BPM oversees multiple concurrent clinical projects. In collaboration with the project functional leads, the role focuses on managing timelines, risks, and client expectations while optimising resourcing to ensure quality delivery, on-time execution, and to drive financial performance and margin.

Project Oversight Lead the planning and coordination of multiple biometrics projects (across DM, Statistics and Programming) to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

Client & Stakeholder Management Act as the primary client-facing project manager, building strong relationships by establishing trust, credibility, collaboration and client satisfaction. Manage expectations through clear communication on progress, risks, and financial status.

Financial & Resource Management Accountability for project financial performance: Monitor project financial health, track budgets, and control gross margin to ensure targets are met. Change order management: Prepare and drive budget reconciliations and contract change orders when project scope or assumptions change, in collaboration with the contracts team and portfolio lead. Resource planning and allocation: In partnership with functional managers, allocate data managers, statisticians & programmers in line with project needs and team capacity. Use resource management tools (e.g. Runn, Pulse) to forecast workloads and manage assignments. Cross-project scheduling: Maintain an overview of all key milestones across the portfolio (e.g. database locks, analyses, deliveries) and ensure adequate resourcing ahead of critical peaks. Financial reporting: Provide regular updates on project financial status (budget burn, forecast to complete, etc.) to senior management. Ensure revenue recognition and invoicing are supported by timely project progress information.

Risk & Quality Management Ensure project risks are documented and managed throughout the project lifecycle in collaboration with the functional leads. Ensure projects are conducted in compliance with GCP, applicable regulations, and the applicable SOPs (Veramed’s or clients as set out in the contract). Ensure any quality issues are escalated according to Veramed SOPs. Act as the point of contact to escalate and resolve project-related issues or decisions. Proactively negotiate timeline adjustments or resource changes with clients when needed. Facilitate root cause analyses for significant issues alongside the QA team (CAPAs). Ensure that learnings are captured for each project and shared across biometrics functions (“lessons learned”).

Process Improvement and Strategic Contribution Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality in project management. Contribute to broader operational initiatives within Veramed’s Project Management Office (PMO) or Operations team. This may involve developing new SOPs, improving training materials for cross-functional project delivery, or exploring new tools/technologies. Support new business development by providing technical input for proposals and budgets. Provide input into and attend bid defence meetings. Drive client satisfaction and repeat business opportunities including account expansion and cross-selling.

People Management & Team Development

Line-manage Project Management support staff if assigned (e.g. junior project managers, project coordinators), and/or provide mentoring to lead statisticians or programmers who are taking on project management tasks. Promote a positive, collaborative team culture and act as a role model for best practices.

Minimum Qualification Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or higher in a relevant scientific, numerical or project management discipline (e.g. Life Sciences, Data Science, Biostatistics, or similar). Industry Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in the clinical research or pharmaceutical industry, with significant exposure to project management of clinical trials or biometrics deliverables. Cross-Functional Expertise: Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating biometrics functions - for example, experience as a Project Manager in a CRO environment, or as a lead Data Manager/Statistician/Programmer with project oversight responsibilities across other functions. Project Management Skills: Proven track record of successfully delivering projects (or portfolios of projects) to quality, timeline, and budget. Financial Acumen: Strong numeracy and comfort with project financials. Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of clinical trial data and regulatory requirements. Working knowledge of CDISC standards (SDTM/ADaM), statistical deliverables (TLFs, SAPs), and database lock processes.

Desirable Skills & Competencies

Leadership & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to communicate clearly and diplomatically with clients, and to lead and motivate internal teams. Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills to manage expectations and influence outcomes (e.g. obtaining agreement on timeline changes or additional budget). Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities. Capable of juggling multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment, while maintaining attention to detail. Able to delegate effectively and use project tools to stay on top of numerous tasks and deadlines. Problem Solving & Proactivity: Proactive mindset with a solution-oriented approach. Comfortable identifying issues or risks early and driving the team toward resolutions. Collaboration & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster teamwork and collaboration across different functional experts (statisticians, programmers, data managers). Tool Proficiency: Proficient in project management and collaboration tools. Knowledge of Industry Practices: Solid understanding of ICH-GCP principles and the regulatory environment for clinical trials Adaptability: Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances or organisational structure
