POSITION SUMMARY

Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres (“CATC”) is a leading Canadian provider of addiction treatment services, operating a large and growing network of treatment centres, pharmacies and related healthcare services across Canada.

Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in CATC’s financial planning, management reporting and business decision-support activities. This position will work closely with Finance, Operations and other functional leaders to understand business performance, identify emerging trends and translate financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights. The Senior Financial Analyst will take ownership of significant components of the budgeting, forecasting and management-reporting processes and will act as a finance business partner across the organization.

The successful candidate will combine strong financial analysis and modelling skills with business judgment, curiosity and the ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

The Senior Financial Analyst will develop data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, and author ad-hoc analysis using SQL data tables, to inform strategic decision-making, optimize service delivery, and enhance operational efficiency across our extensive network of outpatient opioid addiction treatment centres, specialty pharmacies, and inpatient addiction treatment facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the monthly/quarterly/annual close process by ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting to support internal and external stakeholders.
  • Significant participation in the quarterly re-forecasting and annual budgeting processes, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
  • Prepare accurate and high-quality period-end Management reporting and provide variance analyses against forecast, plan and prior year for Senior Management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (within and outside of Finance) to address any discrepancies and streamline reporting processes, as well as to gather relevant data and insights for financial analysis.
  • Weekly analysis and insight into operational trends
  • Analyze/create business case models for new revenue initiatives/business models and quantify the financial impact to aid in decision-making within the organization
  • Serve as a finance business partner to senior management, providing support to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Work closely with business teams to ensure that initiatives are properly built into the plan and forecasts.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of FP&A processes and models to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports, analyses and other duties as assigned to support strategic decision-making.
  • Execute the development and maintenance of analytics and reporting tools to provide actionable insights. This includes working extensively with Power BI or similar business intelligence software to analyze data, generate reports, and support data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Lead cross-functional projects that leverage data analytics to address complex business challenges, optimizing processes and driving forward organizational priorities.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of all data reporting functions and analytics platforms, implementing best practices in data management and governance.
  • Present complex data findings clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels, both in writing and verbally.

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least three years of meaningful experience in financial planning or analysis is a requirement for this role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or other).
  • Experience in utilizing Power BI or similar business intelligence software for data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, manipulating large volumes of data).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Strong business analysis skills with a track record of successful requirement gathering and solutions implementation preferred.
