Position Overview:

Are you passionate about designing innovative supply chain solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and customer outcomes? As a Sr. Manager, Solutions Design Engineering, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing warehouse, eCommerce, packaging, and distribution solutions across a nationwide network of operations. This position owns the solution development lifecycle for new business opportunities, leading the process from initial Request for Information (RFI) analysis through Request for Proposal (RFP) response, solution design, pricing, presentation, and final handoff to operations for implementation.

This position combines industrial engineering, solution design, automation, pricing, analytics, and customer engagement to support new business opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives. As a senior technical leader, you will influence engineering strategy, establish best practices, provide mentorship and guidance to engineers and project teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and customers. While operating as an individual contributor, this role drives organizational capability, fosters knowledge sharing, and helps develop the next generation of engineering talent through coaching, collaboration, and technical leadership.

Work Location: Hybrid in Johns Creek, GA.

Work Schedule:  Monday- Friday, 8:00am - 5pm

Work Travel: Less than 10% of domestic travel depending on needs of the business

Competitive Compensation: $98,000-$140,000 plus performance based annual bonus

 Responsibilities:

  • Develop end-to-end warehouse, copacking, and eCommerce solutions with marketing, sales, and operations leaders.
  • Design, evaluate, plan, integrate, and test project solutions.
  • Create designs, models, and pricing estimates for new business opportunities.
  • Optimize resource utilization and improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyze requirements and design manufacturing and information systems.
  • Identify and eliminate functional duplications within the organization.
  • Implement automated warehousing solutions to enhance productivity.
  • Recommend and optimize storage and material handling strategies.
  • Improve warehouse flow and zoning.
  • Conduct ROI analyses for capital proposals.
  • Design warehouse layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Manage outside vendors for capital projects.
  • Develop and integrate solutions with customers and operations management.
  • Analyze and improve existing processes.
  • Create workflow plans, conduct time studies, and determine productivity metrics.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve work processes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain management or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of related experience of successful management to develop direct reports.
  • 5+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, warehousing, fulfillment, manufacturing, packaging, or 3PL environments.
  • Experience designing operational solutions, process improvements, or warehouse optimization initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data modeling skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial and operational modeling.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, distribution processes, and material handling systems.
  • Experience creating facility layouts and process designs.
  • Working knowledge of WMS, SAP, ERP, or similar operational systems.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Experience in 3PL solution design and customer RFP responses.
  • Experience with packaging automation, AMR/AGV technologies, and automated material handling systems.
  • Knowledge of eCommerce fulfillment and secondary packaging operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in related field preferred.
  • WMS/SAP/ERP Knowledge preferred.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with a proven track record of delivering technical projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A financial or pricing background is a plus.
