Responsibilities

Ready To Deliver Resilient Platform Solutions and Help Raise the Technical Bar Across the SRE Team?

Why This Role Matters

At SRE II, you're no longer just learning the systems — you're shaping them. This role owns the design and delivery of reliability improvements across the Personify Health platform, drives automation that reduces toil, and mentors the engineers coming up behind you. The platform you help keep running serves members managing real health decisions, which means reliability isn't an abstract metric — it has direct human impact.

What You'll Actually Do

Deliver reliability solutions independently: Define and implement well-designed, resilient solutions to platform reliability problems with minimal rework, working within team scope under high-level guidance from the Lead SRE.

Own observability and incident response: Monitor, refine, and expand observability strategies using New Relic and related tools — proactively diagnosing and resolving issues before they reach users, and driving root cause analysis after incidents.

Analyze metrics and drive optimization: Gather and interpret system and application metrics to support performance tuning, capacity planning, and fault diagnosis across the platform.

Automate and reduce toil: Build automation for repetitive operational tasks and contribute to tooling improvements that measurably increase team efficiency.

Contribute to core SRE processes: Participate actively in planning, on-call rotations, incident triage, and metrics review — and surface process improvement recommendations based on what you observe.

Mentor junior engineers: Provide honest, empathetic technical guidance to new hires, interns, and junior SREs — helping them grow faster and produce higher-quality work.

Collaborate with development teams: Partner with engineering teams to improve service reliability, support platform management, and contribute to capacity planning decisions.

Contribute to hiring: Participate in candidate interviews and assessments, conducting calibrated, high-signal evaluations that help build a strong and diverse team.
