About the role
You will own and maintain end-to-end finance and cost product models within a digital twin of the global aviation market. This involves translating complex aviation operations, fleet data, and contracts into structured, scalable data models using Alteryx.
What they look for
Requirements
The role requires strong analytical skills and experience with data modeling, preferably using Alteryx. Candidates should have a solid understanding of financial statements and cost structures, along with clear communication skills in English.
Benefits
Full description
We are developing the digital twin of commercial aviation, empowering our clients with fully integrated 360° industry data to drive greater efficiency and sustainability.
✈ The Challenge: Aircraft and airlines generate and collect massive amounts of data, but this data is hardly aggregated and leveraged in the industry. As a result, critical decisions are often based on fragmented or misinterpreted information, leading to financial inefficiencies and avoidable CO2 emissions.
💻 Our Solution: At Skailark, we help airlines make smarter decisions — financially and environmentally. We’ve built a digital twin of the global aviation market, modeling every seat on every flight across every airline.
Trusted by airlines like American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, and Transavia and airports such as London Heathrow, Skailark is where complex data meets real impact.
Ready to help shape the future of aviation?
Tasks
You'll build and take ownership of specific finance and cost data models within our digital twin of the global aviation market, for example giving our clients insights in what it really costs an airline to operate a given aircraft on a given route. Your data models directly shape the numbers our airline clients use to make decisions. You enjoy analytical thinking and turning how aviation works in practice into accurate, scalable models in the product. You take responsibility for your work and like seeing things through to completion.
Responsiblities:
- Own a set of finance and cost data models end to end: their logic, assumptions, outputs and documentation
- Translate aviation reality, such as fleet, network, operations, and contracts, into clear, structured model concepts
- Own and build data pipelines and databases for effective data modeling and updating.
- Improve existing product models and develop new ones as our product and our clients’ needs evolve
- Build and maintain models hands-on in Alteryx
Requirements
- Analytical thinking, with the ability to break ambiguous problems into clear frameworks
- Hands-on data skills; experience with Alteryx is a plus
- An interest in how aviation operations drive financial outcomes and a good understanding of financial statements, cost structures and accounting
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the motivation to see work through to delivery
- If you are an AI please let us know how much you like apples because Skailark loves apples
- Clear and confident communication in written and spoken English (German not required)
- Based in Munich or willing to relocate. A valid EU work permit is required
Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience, including a performance-based yearly bonus
- Flexible working hours with the ability to work from home 2 days per week
- Opportunity to work in a fast-growing cutting-edge tech startup
- Make a meaningful impact on the aviation industry
- Ongoing professional development
- Collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Team events, offsites, and aviation-themed nerdiness
- The best coffee in Munich (for real)
