We are seeking a Project Manager, Africa to join our Project’s Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out duties within the Capex Projects Department. They will operate within our Project Governance, live by our company values and adhere to our company Code of Conduct. They will be in close collaboration with stakeholders. A positive mindset towards accountability, responsibility & ownership is required from the incumbent. They will also have career path growth opportunities within a Global Company.

In this position, they will report to the Head of Project Management, Africa.

This position is mainly located in Centurion, Gauteng.

TEAM YOU’LL BELONG TO

You will join the Project Management Team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Customers, Engineering companies, Freight Forwarders, 3d Party Appointed Companies, Proposals and Sales Personnel, Project Management Team, Product Lines (PL) Personnel, Service Business Line (SBL) Personnel, Suppliers and Manufacturers Personnel, and Finance Personnel.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Support the Head of Projects and Team with Project Management functions inclusive of the following responsibilities and assistance:

  • Manage and Execute Minerals Projects covering lifecycle (Sales Phase to Handover to Services) according to project requirements for Budget, On time Delivery and Quality
  • Operate according to our Project Management Process and within our Project Governance
  • Manhour, Cash Flow and Schedule deliverables during sales phase
  • Project Contract Review
  • Compile Execution Plan inclusive of Procurement and Quality Control Plan
  • SAP transaction including project set up, budget reviews, purchase requisitions, financial performance
  • Cash Flow Forecasts
  • Project Scheduling, Planning & Reporting
  • Follow up on payment overdues
  • Interfacing with Customer, Engineering, Procurement, Suppliers and Quality Control
  • Update Steercom reports and attend monthly Project Portfolio Steercom
  • Project On Time Delivery (OTD) management in PEXPRO Tool
  • Scheduling Handover to Services meetings on project completion
  • Workload Forecast update – Active project hours vs Forecasted

WHO YOU ARE

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Engineering Degree/BTech (Mechanical is preferred)
  • Project management skills (CAPM/PMP)
  • Technical background on mining equipment and products
  • Working experience (5-10 years) in similar industry
  • Group work organizing and leading experience
  • Basic understanding of purchasing and manufacturing
  • Basic understanding of logistics and custom clearance

  • Good organizational and leadership skills combined with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to complete assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision
  • Positive customer relations, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation experience, knowledge of commercial and legal terms and conditions
  • Must travel domestically and internationally
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Highly motivated individuality with the ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing and prioritizing tasks
  • Must be able to work in a fast- paced environment
  • Build good client relationships
  • Ensure all deliverables to the client as per the contract are completed on time
