MISSION OF THE POSITION
The Manage - Project Planning will have full responsibility for the CAPEX work process by developing, coordinating, and maintaining project plans that support successful execution of business initiatives. This role partners closely with CAPEX stakeholders, business leaders, and the Executive Leadership team Supporting activities at all production locations as well as headquarters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate capital projects across sites to ensure all CAPEX initiatives are properly scoped, justified, approved, and aligned with business objectives before inclusion in the Master Project List.
- Partner with the site project manager, site leadership and Operational Excellence team to maintain project performance metrics and ensure accurate, timely project reporting.
- Support continuous improvement efforts for capital project processes, governance, and execution practices to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.
- Promote compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout all phases of project execution.
- Assist Site Directors and Project Manager/engineers in developing, monitoring, and managing annual CAPEX budgets and spending plans.
- Review CAPEX authorizations requests for completeness and readiness and coordinate required approval and stage-gate review processes in accordance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) requirements.
- Monitor project costs, forecasts, resource requirements, and expenditures to support successful project delivery and provide accurate financial visibility.
- Maintain corporate capital project reporting systems and dashboards, providing regular updates, forecasts, and performance summaries to Finance and Executive Leadership.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level reporting and presentations utilizing tools such as Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint to communicate project status, risks, and milestones.
- Collaborate with site leadership and Executive Leadership Team to support the development and execution of long-range capital investment plans aligned with strategic business priorities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly manages one or more employees and is responsible for hiring, training, development, performance management, promotions, work assignments, and employment-related decisions, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
Requirements
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations or similar related field.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of experience in a technical field supporting project planning, project management, or related discipline.
- Experience using project planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Primavera, Jira, or similar platforms preferred.

- Knowledge of and experience with EH&S, operating, maintenance, capital projects and engineering processes and procedures, business fundamentals, and shared services role in projects and manufacturing.
- Must have expert level competency with PowerPoint and Excel.
