Job Description

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering reliable, secure, scalable, and operationally efficient infrastructure and platform services that enable successful customer outcomes. Working under the direction of the Principal Site Reliability Engineer, you will collaborate with customers, delivery teams, platform specialists, and support teams to deploy, operate, and improve customer application and platform environments, automate infrastructure management, support migrations, enable integrations, and contribute to the reliability, performance, security, and continual improvement of Certus managed services.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical consultant to assist customers with migrations, operational transitions, and service improvement activities.
  • Support delivery of reliability, operational excellence, service improvement initiatives, and customer outcomes across customer support and managed service environments.
  • Support application teams in the technical configuration, deployment, maintenance, and support of customer application and platform environments.
  • Troubleshoot customer application, cloud platform, integration, and platform configuration issues.
  • Configure integrations between customer systems and supported application platforms.
  • Enable Certus-hosted customer platform capabilities to support customer requirements, including email services, identity providers, access controls, and related platform services.
  • Deploy and support customer application platforms and cloud platform services, including operational configuration and performance support.
  • Use Certus DevOps deployment pipelines to enable features, perform maintenance, deploy new components, and improve repeatability of platform operations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, support procedures, architecture context, and knowledge articles.
  • Provide support and maintenance of customer application environments, including participation in the on-call support function as required.

Qualifications

You will bring 7+ years’ experience in a similar consultancy, customer-facing technology, managed services, or platform operations role, along with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an IT-related discipline
  • A history working in a consultancy or demonstrated experience in customer-facing role
  • Strong expertise in customer application platforms, cloud services, and managed service operations, including deployment, configuration, support, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience operating, supporting, or improving enterprise application platforms in hosted, SaaS, or managed service environments.
  • Proven experience with deep technical knowledge of working with customer applications, site reliability, cloud technology and system integration.
  • Proficiency in Linux / OpenShift / Kubernetes strongly desired.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills, comfortable to explain technical issues, risks, service impacts, options, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of professionalism, organisation and attention to detail  
  • Willingness to support roster which may include night shifts and weekend work as required.
  • Willingness to learn, curious to improve industry knowledge and keep aware of emerging technologies.
