Full description

A multinational defence organisation runs a portfolio of capability projects under alead project manager, and needs someone to take assigned projects and deliver them — including thebusiness case that secures the funding in the first place.

What you would be doing

  • Planning, implementing and managing assigned projects to the organisation's project managementpolicies and procedures.
  • Developing the business case behind a project — procurement strategy, benefits, risk analysisand the proposal itself — to secure sponsor acceptance and funding.
  • Running the management, coordination and quality assurance that delivery of a capabilityactually requires.
  • Understanding what the client needs, gathering the data, doing the analysis and resolving theproblems that surface.
  • Delivering within agreed scope, time, cost and quality tolerances, and reporting progress bothroutinely and when asked.
  • Identifying and allocating the resources needed to hit milestones, and starting correctiveaction when they slip.
  • Managing performance indicators, risks and issues actively, with the logs kept current anddeviations reported with a proposed course of action.
  • Managing project cash flow and contributing to financial planning, reporting and multi-yearbusiness planning.
  • Supervising project team members directly or in a matrix, and leading meetings with team,stakeholders and customers.
  • Keeping project artefacts accurate and current by reviewing them regularly.
