Senior Software Engineer

Embedded Linux | Cryptographic Systems

Scottsdale, AZ

Pay Estimated: $55.70 - $60.70/Hour

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to support Crypto and Cross Domain Solutions, designing and developing next-generation cryptographic solutions for secure defense applications. This role requires an active Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire and experience with software development, embedded Linux applications, Linux debugging, technical standards, and software engineering methodologies.

This role supports a cross-functional engineering team developing high-quality, high-performance software solutions for embedded and secure systems. Experience with Xilinx SoC platforms, Vitis, PetaLinux, software-defined radio (SDR), satellite applications, Red/Black separation architectures, Docker, Podman, or Wind River Linux is highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and embedded software solutions.
  • Develop next-generation cryptographic solutions supporting Crypto and Cross Domain Solutions.
  • Lead software development activities and apply established technical standards and engineering methodologies.
  • Develop Linux applications for embedded systems.
  • Debug and troubleshoot embedded Linux software and system-level issues.
  • Develop high-quality, high-performance software solutions with minimal technical direction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate software solutions and resolve technical issues.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and champion software engineering process improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience leading or supporting the software development process.
  • Experience applying software engineering technical standards and methodologies.
  • Experience developing Linux applications for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency with embedded Linux debugging and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to develop high-quality, high-performance software solutions with minimal input.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Vitis, PetaLinux, and Xilinx SoC platforms, including Zynq UltraScale+ and/or Versal.
  • Experience with software-defined radio (SDR) or satellite applications.
  • Experience with secure Red/Black separation architectures.
  • Experience with Docker and Podman in Linux environments.
  • Experience with Wind River Linux.
